Laura Albast is a Palestinian journalist, photographer, translator, and media analyst. Her publications and appearances include The Washington Post, The Nation, The New Arab, Arab American News, Doha News, Al Jazeera, Al Araby TV, TRT World, KPFA, and other outlets. She holds degrees from the American University of Beirut and Boston University. She is currently the Senior Editor of Digital Strategy and Communications at the Institute for Palestine Studies-USA in Washington, DC, and the managing editor of the Institute's English blog, Palestine Square.

Laura has documented testimonies from Gaza and the DC community's revolt in the streets since the genocide began over a year ago. This event will delve into media biases beyond the headline, examining restrictive editorial policies and manufactured lies. Laura will also discuss the critical role of alternative media movements advocating for just coverage of the plight of the Palestinian people.
