Today marks 50 years since the revolutionary writer, poet, journalist , and member of the PLFP Ghassan Kanafani was assassinated.
Ghassan Kanafani (1936-1972) was a Palestinian writer, journalist, and political activist who played a significant role in the literary and political landscape of the Levant, particularly in the Palestinian context. He was essential in shaping Palestinian literature and the Palestinian national consciousness.
Ghassan was born in Palestine under the British occupation, and lived the majority of his adult life as a stateless person the result of another occupation, that of Israel
Ghassan was just 36, when the occupation forces assassinated him.
