Hatem Ali

A year Ago and on the same day today, we in the Mashriqi community lost one of the most brilliant minds in television and cinema.

Hatem Ali, the brilliant director, actor, writer, and producer dies too early in 2020 at 58 years of age.

Started his career in 1988 as an actor, and started directing in the mid-90s giving us plenty of jewels to be proud of.

Giving us works like "Altaghreba Alfalastenya" and "Salah Al Din" and the unparalleled masterpiece "The Andalusian Quartet" in its four-part series.

His final acting role before his death was in Canadian film "Peace by Chocolate" that’s a true story about the Hadhad Family who moved to Canada as refugees from Syria and established an artisanal Chocolate shop.

Hatem Ali's legacy will not be forgotten and his efforts to lift Levantine drama to new heights will hopefully not go in vain. Syria and the Levant lost a brilliance that will not be easily attained again.

for the one-year memorial of his passing The New Mosaic honors him by suggesting to our family to watch one of these amazing series:
Al Fosoul Al Arbaa
Al Zier Salem
Salah Al Din
Sakr Quraish
Rabea Qurtoba
Molouk Al Tawaef
Al Taghreba Al falastenya
Seraa Ala El Remal
Omar
Al Arrab
